A Five Thousand dollar bonus for 2022 presented by B&M Racing
Tragedy struck the Man Cup community just days after the 2021 season ended in its traditional supreme style with the 45th annual FuelTech World Finals presented by Wiseco Piston at South Georgia Motorsports Park last November. Man Cup’s very first staff member, Rich, the self-proclaimed “Gunster” Regan suffered a massive heart attack on Tuesday after the Finals. Sadly, he succumbed eleven days later, on December 03, 2021 from a heart attack. Rich was an absolute fixture at registration for the twelve seasons Man Cup had been in existence. It was a sad and very trying off-season, to say the least, for the Regan family.
But, there are times when tragedy ultimately facilitates great things. Today, Man Cup is very proud to introduce “The Gunster Fund” presented by B&M Racing. It will provide a five thousand dollar bonus fund to be given away at the 2022 World Finals. How do I get in, you ask? It is very simple, just enter any one of the first four events of the 2022 season and for every race or test entry you purchase, you get one entry into the drawing. Event winners get a bonus of two additional entries, and number one qualifiers, as well as class runner-ups, get one extra free entry. Additional entries are available for purchase to all racers, crew, and fans for only five dollars each.
“I wanted to try to do something to honor the legacy of my older brother Rich for his unending support of motorcycle drag racing over these last twenty-five-plus years. Yes, twenty-five-plus years. I am pretty sure you could count on just one hand the number of ProStar / AMA Dragbike / Man Cup events he did not attend, going all the way back to 1992. The Gunster Fund would not be possible without the very generous support from one of motorcycle drag racing’s genuine good guys, Mr. Calvin Blanden of B&M Racing. Our plan is for The Gunster Fund to be an ongoing and perpetual entity that celebrates Rich and motorcycle drag racing every season,” an emotional Jay Regan from Man Cup offered.
As always, the quiet and reserved Blanden downplayed his generosity in making The Gunster Fund a reality. “Rich was one of the people I really enjoyed seeing at the track and his loss is a loss for the sport as well. The sport needs more guys like the Gunster, not less. When Jay approached me about funding this unique project, it was simply an immediate yes, I would love to do it answer for me!”
There will be three chances to win. All three drawings will be held at the 2022 World Finals. Drawing #1 will be Friday evening and it will be for $1,000.00. Drawing #2 will be for $1,500.00 Saturday afternoon and the Grand Finale will be Sunday morning during opening ceremonies and that lucky winner will collect $2,500.00
